What does it matter what the average guy thinks about global warming? He doesn't know anything except the lies and filth with which Poop Murdoch's media and the other agents of mass mental pollution have stuffed his immortal soul.
Or if he does know anything else, it won't be anything to do with the assessment of twentieth-Century regional surface temperature trends using the GFDL CM2 coupled simulation models, or about Interactive feedback between the tropical Pacific decadal oscillation and ENSO in a coupled general circulation model, or any of the other thousand and one aspects of climate research he'd need to be aware of before making a competent assessment in a very murky and controversial field.
So what is the Timesey's point?
Garbage in garbage out?
Or is it, ask a silly question and get the silly answer we want to use as a headline: "Human Activity Not Responsible for Global Warming"?
